Fully working NORTH BROS No.130A Yankee spiral ratchet screwdriver.
Nickel plated, brass body, with a wooden handle.
Patented in April 1895, "YANKEE" soon became the name for the automatic spiral ratchet screwdriver. Over the next four decades, several improvements were made and patented by North Bros. with the 'A' refering to the imporved way of securing the mechanism to the casing. Purchased by STANLEY in 1946.
If you have ever used one of these you know how nice the mechanism feels to use.
Has been lightly cleaned to keep the original patina.
